Der erste Brief / The first letter

Ich habe einen Brief von TravelWorks bekommen. So einen werde ich jetzt noch zwei mal vor meiner Abreise bekommen. Naja... wer weiß, vielleicht macht es ja das lange warten leichter?
Also in dem Brief sind sehr viele Informationen drin. Es wurden alle möglichen Abflugtermine aufgelistet und ich wurde zum Vorbereitungsseminar eingeladen. Es ist also keine sooo wahnsinnig große Neuigkeit, hat mich aber trotzdem sehr aufgeheitert, da mir klar wird, dass es schon fast zum greifen nah ist.
Viel mehr Neuigkeiten gibt es also nicht. Es ist halt noch ein halbes Jahr hin. Das ist eine lange Zeit.

I got a letter from TravelWorks. I'll get such a letter two more times before my departure. Well.. who knows... maybe it'll make it easier to wait this half year?
Anyway... In this letter there were all the possible departure dates and I'm also invited to a preparation seminar.
So it aren't as great news as I thought, but they made me happy nevertheless, because I just realized, that my dream is almost within one's reach.
There aren't much more news anymore. There is still a half year left, which is a really long time.

schlechte Nachrichten aus Iowa / Bad news from Iowa

Wie es aussieht kann ich doch nicht bei unseren Bekannten aus Iowa wohnen. :-/
Ich bin mir noch nicht mal sicher, ob ich wirklich verstanden habe warum. Ich weiß nur, dass Papa oft mit ihm via e-mail geschrieben hat und dann hat sich herausgestellt, dass die Schulen offensichtlich kein Platz mehr für mich haben.
Aber da kann man nichts machen. Ich denke ich sollte da ehr positiv denken und mir sagen: "Kopf hoch. Dann lernst du halt noch viel mehr interessante Leute kennen"
Um ehrlich zu sein: Es fällt mir normaler Weise ziemlich schwer so zu denken. Ich bin nicht wirklich optimistisch. Aber ich lerne es und ich mache Fortschritte ;-) Dafür möchte ich natürlich meine Freunde und anderen großen Unterstützern danken.

Apparently I can't stay with our friends in Iowa :-/
I'm even not really sure, if I got the reasons right. I just know, that Dad often talked to him via e-mail. Obviously the schools don't want me to attend them, because there are already too many exchange students.
But I can't help it. I guess, I have to think positive about it and say to myself: "Cheer up. Maybe I'll get to know some interesting new people."
To be honest: Normally it's pretty hard for me to think like that. I'm not really optimistic, which isn't good at all. I need more positive thoughts ;-) But I'm learning :) Therefor I want to thank my friends and other great supporter :)
