Vorbereitung für die Schule / Getting ready for school

Heute Morgen haben meine Gastmama und ich ungefär 2 Stunden in der Schule verbracht. Wir haben da meinen Stundenplan erstellt und danach hat sie mich ein wenig durch die Schule geführt.
Das war soo aufregend, weil diese Schule echt groß ist und die Räume total verwirrend. Ich weiß nicht wie sich das jemand merken soll.
Außerdem wurde mir vom Schulleiter gezeigt wie mein Locker funktioniert. Ich glaube ich habe es verstanden... mal sehen wie lange ich brauche um es wieder zu vergessen. Mein Locker ist total klein und Schmal, ganz anders als in den Filmen immer gezeigt wurde. Und den muss ich mir dann wahrscheinlich auch noch mit jmanden teilen...
Mein Stundenplan ist eigentlich ganz ok. Ich habe, so wie jeder andere auch, jeden Tag acht Stunden und jeden Tag den gleichen Stundenplan... Das wird vielleicht am Anfang komisch, aber ich denke ich werde mich daran gewöhnen.
Morgen geht es dann richtig los!

 In the morning my host mum and me went to the high school for about two hours. We did my schedule there and afterwards she showed me the school a little.
This was soo exciting, because the high school is so big and the rooms are so confusing. I have no idea how to manage that.
Besides the principle showed me how my locker works. I think I got it... lets see how long I can remember it. My locker is very tiny and small, completely different to the series I saw. And probably I have to share it, too...
My schedule is actually pretty nice. I have, like all the other students too, 8 hours a day and it's every day the same. Maybe this will be pretty strange at the beginning, but I guess I get use to it.
Tomorrow School starts!

Ankunft bei der Gastfamilie / Arriving the host family

Nachdem wir uns auf dem Flughafen kurz begrüßt haben sind wir zum (sehr großen) Auto gegangen und haben mein Gepäck verladen :) Danach sind wir zur Oma und Opa gefahren, damit ich mich auch da vorstellen kann. Sie wahren sehr nett und ich habe mich wohlgefühlt. Es gab etwas Obst und Brot, was wirklich lecker war und später sind wir dann auch weiter gefahren... in mein neues zu Hause auf Zeit ;-)
Mir wurde das Haus und der Garten gezeigt und dann habe ich ausgepackt. Außerdem habe ich ein paar kleine Geschenke verteilt, was ,denke ich, auch gut angekommen ist.
Am Abend sind wir dann noch zu einer Art Festival von Greenville gegangen und haben uns da ein wenig um gesehen... das war total cool, aber ich war wirklich total kaput nah diesem Tag. Es war (bis auf den Flug) so schön, aber auch anstrengend, dass ich nur noch schlafen konnte :)

After we welcomed each other on the air port a little we went to the (very big) car and loaded my baggage  :) Than we went to the Grandma and Grandpa, so that I could introduce my self a little. They are very nice and I felt really comfortable there. They had some fruits and bread, which was really delicious and later we went ahead... to my new home for a year ;-)
They showed me the hous and the garden and than I started unpacking. Besides I gave away a few presents, what they all really liked, I guess.
In the evening we went to kind of a festival of Greenville and looked around a little... it was really cool, but at the end I was totally tired. It was (accept the fligh) so great and exciting that all I could do was sleeping :)

Flug New York - Dayton / Flight New York - Dayton

Es war echt früh heute Morgen. Ich bin erst um 4 Uhr aufgewacht was wirklich knapp war, weil ich schon um 4.15 Uhr unten sein sollte. Ich habe mich soo beeilen müssen, aber ich habe es geschafft, also kein Problem :)

Der Flug war wirklich schrecklich. Ich war ganz alleine und es hat so sehr gewackelt. Das Flugzeug ging die ganze Zeit hoch und runter und ich hatte so ein Druck auf den Ohren... es war einfach nur schlimm. Und ich dachte ernsthaft, dass ich sterben würde.

Aber ich habe überlebt und bin sogar ,wie auch immer, bis zu den Koffern gekommen. Aber alles was ich da fand waren Leute die vor einem lehrem Gepäckband standen. Ich dachte sie hätten alle Koffer verloren, aber nach 10 bis 15 Minuten kamen die koffer doch noch an.

Endlich hatte ich meinen Koffer und bin zur Empfangshalle gegangen... Naja... es war keiner da... aber nach einigen Minuten warten kam meine Familie doch durch die Tür :)

Das war ein aufregender Vormittag und wie ich mich jetzt fühle werde ich nie wieder einen Fuß in ein Flugzeug setzen... zumindenst nicht in ein so kleines, wackliges wie dieses... Kein Plan wie ich dann wieder nach Hause will, aber das Problem habe ich erst in ein paar Monaten...

It was really early this morning. Unfortunately I woke up at 4 am, which was too late since I had to be down stairs at 4.15 am. But I horried soo much and I got it, so no problem :)

The flight was really horrible. I was all alone and it wiggled soo much. The plain went just up and down the whole time and I had so much pressure on my ears. It was just terrible. I seriously thought I was dying.

But I survieved and, how ever I did that, I even got to the baggage. But when I went there all I saw were people standing around the empty baggage conveyor belt. I thought they lost all the baggage, but after about 10 to 15 min they did arrieve.

Finally I got my suitcase and went to the arrival hall.. well... noone was there, but after a few mins waiting my host family came though the door :)

This was an exciting morning and at the moment I feel like never steping in a plane again.... at least not in a small one like this was... I've no idea how I want to go home next year then....

New York

Ich hatte wirklich wunderbare Tage in New York. Tage die ich nie vergessen werde. Wir haben ein wenig Sights Seeing gemacht und dabei Sachen wie die Freiheitsstatur, den Central Park, den Time Square, das Empire State Building und noch viel mehr gesehen. Es hat sich angefühlt als wäre ich in eins unserer früheren Englischbücher geklettert... so unreal und trotzdem wahr :)

Mit den anderen Austauschschülern habe ich mich natürlich auch verstanden... sogar international. Am besten kam ich mit einigen Koreanerinnen klar :)

Morgen muss ich um 4.15 Uhr unten sein und mein Flug geht um 7.29 Uhr. Das heißt ich mus um 3.30 Uhr oder spätestens um 3.45 Uhr aufstehen :o

I had some perfect days in New York. Days I'll never ever forget. We did a little sights seeing and saw things like the Statue of Liberty, the Central Park, the Time Square, the Empire State Building and much more. It felt like I just slip into one of our former English books... so unreal but nevertheless true :)

I got allong with the other exchange students really well, too... even international. I liked some Korean girls best :)

Tomorrow I have to be downstairs at 4.15 am and my flight goes at 7.29 am. That means, that I have to get up at 3.30 am or 3.45 am at the latest :o

Okay... Ich habe meinen aller ersten Flug nach New York überlebt! Ich war völlig außer mich auf dem Flughafen, weil ich mich von allen trennen musste um (fast) alleine durch die Sicherheitskontrollen zum Flug zu gehen und da dann auch noch einzusteigen. Aber ich habe mich mit den anderen netten Austauschschülern im gelben T-Shirt super verstanden und es war deswegen nicht so schlimm :)

Der Flug selbst war eigentlich ganz angenehm... es gab Essen und Trinken, Filme, Musik und Kissen zum schlafen. Außerdem habe ich all die schönen Briefe von Freunden und Verwanten gelesen und habe gelacht und geweint :) Neben bei gesagt: Danke dafür :)

Obwohl es nicht soo schlimm war, war ich froh in New York zu sein und durch die Sicherheitskontrollen in New York war ich auch schnell durch :)

Okay.... I survieved my very first flight to New York! I was about to freak out at the air port, because I had to say good bye to every one and go (almost) alone through the security check and even get in the plane. But I got along with the other exchange students in yellow pretty well so it wasn't that bad :)

The flight was actually pretty nice... there were some food and some drink, movies, music and pillows to sleep. Besides I read all the letters from friends and relatives and I loughed and cried ;) By the way: Thank you for that :)

Allthough it wasn't that bad I was glad to be in New York and I passed the security check in New York pretty fast, too :)

It will be a great time in New York!

Abschiedsparty / Going - Away Party

Kaum zu glauben! Die letzten Tage in Deutschland! Ich hatte gestern eine super Party geschmissen :) Es gab Burger zum Abendessen (natürlich selbstgemacht) und Mitternachtskuchen. Natürlich auch viel Musik und gute Laune. Ich war sehr froh, das ich viele nette Leute um mich hatte um mich von ihnen für ein Jahr zu verabschieden. Es war sehr witzig und der harte Kern ist sogar bis um 5 Uhr morgens wach geblieben :)

Unbelifable! The last few days in Germany! Yesterday I had a nice party :) There were Burger for Dinner (of course home made) and cake at midnight. Of course there were good music and perfect mood, too. I was verry glad to have so many nice people around me to say good bye for one year. It was really funny and some friends even stayed to 5 am :)

Gastfamilie / host family

Als ich vorhin vom shoppen kam, hat mein Bruder mich mit den Worten "Du gehst nach Ohio" begrüßt. Ich konnte es erst gar nciht richtig fassen, aber es ist wahr. Es ist eine ziemlich große Familie die auch ein paar Tiere wie Katzen, Ziegen und andere hat.
Am Abend habe ich gleich versucht die erste e-Mail zu schreiben. Ich weiß nicht ob sie sehr gut geworden ist, aber ich werde noch besser ;-) Jetzt muss ich nur noch eine e-Mail an die Betreuerin vor Ort schreiben :)

When I came back from shopping today, my brother welcomed me with the words "You are going to Ohio!" At first I couldn't believe it, but it's true. It's a pretty huge family with a few animals like cats, goats and others.
In the evening I tried to write the first e-Mail. I don't know if it was very good, but I'm going to be better soon ;-) Now I just have to write an e-mail to the local chaperon :)
